Build a sourcing brief that works harder

Give a supplier the product, quantity and destination details needed for a useful conversation.

Describe the product you need

You can begin with a catalogue reference or a general category. Explain the product type, intended use and the details that matter most: material, size range, style, colour mix or packaging.

Separate essential requirements from preferences. If a different colour or assortment could work for your business, mention that flexibility.

State quantity in a clear unit

Write the target quantity alongside its unit. For example, a request for pieces, sets or cartons should not leave the unit to interpretation. If you are considering several products, add a separate quantity for each.

The enquiry centre lets you collect stocklots, adjust quantities and download your list. Those quantities are requests; they do not reserve inventory or confirm an order.

Include the destination and practical requirements

Add the destination country and port if known. Include a preferred timeframe and any packing, labelling, sample or inspection requirements you want to discuss.

  • Destination country and intended delivery point.
  • Target timing or any known schedule constraints.
  • Packing and labelling preferences.
  • Information you want confirmed before making a decision.

Review before you send

Check the lot references, quantities and contact details. A brief does not need to be long, but it should be specific enough to guide the next conversation.

After submitting the enquiry form, keep the displayed reference. Your request is stored privately for review. No automatic email confirmation is sent and no payment is taken.
